Daily Duties at The Diabetes And Lipid Center:
Taught group and individual Diabetes Self-Management Training and Diabetes Prevention to patients and their families. Collaborated with physicians and other members of the healthcare team regarding diabetes continuum management. Assessed and made recommendations to the healthcare providers regarding the diabetes plan of care of the patient. Implemented the plan of care with the patient; for example insulin adjustment, meal planning, exercise, stress management, insulin pump training, and many other aspects of diabetes management. Marketed the prograam by going to industrial sites to perform diabetes screenings and conducting Diabetes Prevention seminars on site. Made decisions in regard to product usage among vendors. Delivered Continuing Education presentations to health care professionals. Involved in marketing The Diabetes and Lipid Association to surrounding areas. Developed and conducted a Foot Care Clinic. Community education for diabetes awareness by speaking to civic associations, such as The Rotary Club.
