Daily Duties at Merrill Lynch Pierce, Fenner & Smith, Inc.:

Supported senior manager and lead, through the syndication process, in the structuring, marketing, and execution of syndicated loan transactions for private middle market clients in the Bank's Mid-Atlantic and West Division and supported senior manager in the structuring/syndication of loans for certain public real estate companies (including homebuilders). Job Responsibilities included: * Develop and maintain client relationships; * Develop and maintain investor relationships; * Participate in Division and Regional Office Meetings to update product partners on current deal flow, market trends, investor trends, and performance of unit; * Conduct market research through interactions with clients, investors and client management team; * Conduct comparable-transaction analysis to determine structure, covenants, pricing of loans; * Create highly effective pitch and marketing materials to aid in the securing of loans; * Interface with client management team and risk management to determine deal structure; * Negotiate financial terms and loan documents with client, client management team, and investors; * Develop client term sheets, lender presentations and sales force memoranda; * Host bank group meetings/conference calls, * Interface with third parties throughout the closing process; * Coordinate closings with client, client managment team, investors and attorneys; * Maintain detailed electronic and hard copy filing system and database; * Assist other team members in their responsibilities; and * Other duties as assigned by Manager * Supervised performance of three junior associates through reviewing written work, timeliness of responses and delivery of an accurate product. Responsible for monitoring workflows to maximize associate resources. * Accountable for the production of the group's monthly fee report, working with senior associate to ensure the accuracy of the information, and ensures dissemination of report to senior managment of the bank in a timely manner.
