Daily Duties at Merrill Lynch, Pierce, Fenner & Smith, Inc.:

Support senior manager, through the syndication process, in the structuring, marketing, and execution of syndicated loan transactions for both private middle market and public real estate companies (including homebuilders). * Develop and maintain client relationships; * Develop and maintain investor relationships; * Conduct market research; * Perform financial and due diligence analysis (by conducting comparable-transaction analysis to determine structure, covenants, pricing); * Create highly effective pitch and marketing materials to aid in the securing of loans; * Interface with client management team and risk management to determine deal structure; * Negotiate financial terms and loan documents with client, client management team, and investors; * Develop client term sheets, lender presentations and sales force memoranda; * Host bank group meetings/conference calls, * Interface with third parties throughout the closing process; * Coordinate closings with client, client managment team, investors and attorneys; * Maintain detailed electronic and hard copy filing system and database; * Assist other team members in their responsibilities; and * Other duties as assigned by Manager * Supervised performance of four junior associates through reviewing written work, timeliness of responses and delivery of an accurate product. Responsible for monitoring workflows to maximize associate resources. * Accountable for the production of the group's monthly fee report, working with senior associate to ensure the accuracy of the information, and ensures dissemination of report to senior managment of the bank in a timely manner.
