Daily Duties at Center For Disease Control And Prevention:

I manage certified data sources for BioSense Global maintenance support. I install software patches\updates and hardwares changes and operating system changes\updates. Data source support issues require expertise in IT and clinical applications in tier 1 thru tier 3 support. Operational Monitoring for the BioSense System Dashboard this dashboard is the key monitoring process phase in the BioSense Data flowing from data source to application for the CDC. I monitor the BioSense Traffic Light reports that is a Real Time report that shows DOD,RT,VA,Laboratory data sources. This is a SAS program using Active X. I'm the FTE in charge of handling Contractors that do maintenance on the Vocabulary BioSense Integrator. This workstation handles the Data Source updates to and addition of codes i.e., ADT, Radiology, LOINC, SNOMED. I make sure contract company designates appropriate support personnel. I communicate with the Information Data Management Department through written descriptions of the outcome. Written and oral information is disseminated to customers, various CDC departments as well as state and federal agencies. Work involves installing and validation security system software patches and fixes provided by vendors to keep the system up to Federal and CDC standards. I run tests to ensure functionality and interoperability within the systems environment, identify faults, and ensure that all problems are corrected. The work also involves diagnosing different firewalls and access control list and access points while maintaining proper control of the the IDS and auditing. Designed, implemented, documented, and tested software systems using tools such as Microsoft Project to ensure projects were completed on-time, on-budget, and met all the requirements. Managed and helped development large scale software projects, software architectures, software planning and management, team structure, and cost estimation. My responsibility is to translate the information into a simple and easy and understandable manner, and talk the customer through the steps required to perform the solution to their computer problem describe in technical terms in the appropriate reference. I write documentation to address all issues for employees.
