Daily Duties at Gkn Freight Services, Inc.:
Manage all aspects of financial operations for an $80 million Americas division of a global freight forwarding company which included 13 business units across 6 offices in the US and Mexico. Developed and implemented every accounting process and system ensuring compliance with regulatory and corporate policy. Created financial budget in conjunction with operations in order to achieve business strategy. Analyzed actual performance against budget and forecast to evaluate variance and develop profit and cash improvement deliverables measured by KPI’s and tactical plans. Responsible for A/R, A/P, customer invoicing, supplier invoice reconciliation, month end closing/reporting, fixed asset records, cash management in multiple currencies (foreign exchange), and customer/internal reporting. Ensured financial and reporting staff were fully engaged and working to their maximum potential through continual training and development. From 2002 through 2011 developed from Accounting Coordinator through several organizational structure levels to achieve Financial Manager role by demonstrating commitment to personal and professional development targets.
