Daily Duties at Arlington County Des:

Supervises the Water Pollution Control Bureau, Dept. of Parks and Water, Sewer and Street Bureau. Duties include long and short term planning for E&I equipment and process changes, particularly in the areas related to new systems, for the 568 million dollar plant expansion; assigning, monitoring, and evaluating the work of 5 Master Licensed Electrical Power Technicians and 4 Certified Controls System Technicians; providing technical expertise to staff and resolving the most difficult technical issues; project management for electrical or instrumentation installation; scoping and setting project times, cost, materials and manpower; selecting and managing contractors; ensuring complete documentation of projects, including prints, OEM’s & loop drawings; design distributed control systems (DCS), computer configurations, graphics, and computer interfaces between the programmable logic controllers (PLC) and DCS operations; overseeing equipment calibrations and certifications and certifications relating to billing meters and analytical instruments used in chemical additions or monitoring; ensuring all work is in compliance with all state codes, safety requirements and industry standards.
