Daily Duties at Baltimore County:
Serve as a communications resource to the Baltimore County Executive and county agencies in communicating with the public about county services, initiatives, and issues of interest to the community. Coordinate media relations, write and issue press releases, conduct press conferences, and manage public events for the County Executive. Work with media (TV, print, electronic, and social) to present a positive image of Baltimore County within the community. Facilitate written, verbal, and electronic communications with county citizens, civic groups, businesses, partner agencies, and county employees. Produce and serve as Editor in Chief for two separate bi-weekly electronic newsletters targeted for county residents and employees. Provide and manage the content for the “Employee News” web page on the county’s intranet system. Design and develop web content to highlight newsworthy and relevant topics for the public. Employ social media (Facebook, twitter, etc.) to provide county residents with instant information about current, topical information. Manage Baltimore County sponsored outdoor festivals with community organizations; festival attendance 2,000 to 20,000.
