Daily Duties at Marymount School Barranquilla:

Algebra Teacher for 7th and 8th Grades • Prepare and develop all the study program and activities for the classes • Translate books, word problems, exercises, directions, and explanations from Spanish Language to English Language, since the subject in 7th Grade was taught in English and there was not a specific text book to follow • Create all tests using critical thinking questions in which students have to do two to three operations in order to solve the problems • Plan and organize all the activities and content two weeks ahead for each subject • Create LOP’s (Learning Opportunity Programs) to teach content using different strategies and projects according to the student’s learning styles (visual, auditory, and kinesthetic) developing their critical thinking skills • Participate actively on the Accreditation process by NEASC (North England Association of Schools and Colleges) in different work teams: Spanish curriculum, Social Studies, Mathematics, Science, and job description manuals • Meet with staff developer’s weekly to plan and implement new activities • Attend and participate in faculty meetings • Correct assignments /tests and inserted grades in the system for parents to keep up with the student’s performance in each subject • Maintained accurate and appropriate records and files reports • Participate actively in reports during Parent-Student-Teacher conferences • Classroom supervision during daily tests. (Each subject is evaluated weekly. There is a testing period daily before the first class period) • Tutor students with severe discipline problems characterized by defiant and aggressive behavior towards others. (One on one tutoring) • Supervise recess and dismissal of students • Maintained class discipline at all times
