Responsible for the on-time and profitable execution of all projects related to new bottle designs or modifications to existing bottle designs for a five plant operation. Served as client’s point of contact on each project; communicated status and managed expectations. Created project work plans, including time lines. Scheduled all project qualifications, including new mold qualifications, raw material trials and initial production requirements. • Managed the department of Engineering & Design. Successfully implemented procedures for logging design requests that provided visibility on status, and allowed for scheduling of weekly work priorities in order to reduce design time from a 1-week average turn-around time to a 48-72 hour average turn-around time. • Reduced new project lead times involving new 2-Step PET Molds from an 8 week average turn-around time to a 5 week average turn-around time by taking ownership of the sourcing and purchasing of all new molds, tooling, and raw materials required for development trials, product qualifications and launches. • Ensured company profitability. Captured all project costs, including design work and sample run requests, and invoiced accordingly. Established terms and conditions for new business (i.e. Amortization arrangements on tooling) and monitored performance to ensure compliance. Reviewed unit pricing at project close to ensure continued profitability by researching quoted vs. real manufacturing inputs/outputs and making adjustments as needed to the unit price. • Accountable for new project positioning to minimize plant over-load and ensure project timing. Conducted capacity reviews for multi-plant operation to identify line loading and tooling constraints, make recommendations for solution, and to finalize product placement. • Maintained ownership of new project bills of material. Responsible for accurate identification, input and maintenance in order to correctly assign production requirements to the plants and to establish true product cost. • Supported sales and marketing in growing the business by serving as their go-to person for questions concerning feasibility, timing and costs. Conducted cost analyses to investigate margin requests and to establish product pricing. Analyzed profitability of new and existing business. ACCOMPLISHMENTS • Created and implemented procedures for project execution and created department documentation that assisted in award of ISO 9001:2000 certifications. • Executed 355 New Mold Projects over a 7 year period that has generated sales dollars totaling $60MM. • Increased project profitability by 10% by ensuring that all tooling and services were invoiced.
