Daily Duties at Casey's General Stores:
Lead the Casey’s Marketing department staff of ten employees that comprised the Retail and Wholesale Category Management team and Pricebook department. • Managed four retail category buyers who performed pricing, promotion, and product selection duties. This team was responsible for all store-level retail sales of 6,000 SKUs in over 1,485 store locations across a nine-state region. Under my leadership inside sales for this region exceeded $1.2 billion as a part of approximately $5 billion in total annual sales. • Managed three wholesale buyers, who were responsible for warehouse procurement, and one tobacco information coordinator. • Managed the Pricebook department manager and specialist. This team was responsible for maintaining pricing and promotional pricing downloads to the stores. • Helped negotiate all retail and wholesale marketing contracts with Casey’s major manufacturers including Coca Cola, Pepsi, Budweiser, MillerCoors, Altria, Reynolds Tobacco, and the Dr. Pepper-Snapple Group. • Used my strong knowledge of the broker network in the retail and wholesale arenas to direct my category management team in making decisions in the best interests of Casey’s self-distribution system.
