Daily Duties at Education Management Corporation:
I analyzed data from various clients (including Fortune 500 companies) and presented them with actionable guidance. I built and implemented several types of models including: forecasting and multivariate regression analysis. The majority of the regression analysis was linear, but did use logistic modeling from time to time. I worked both independently and in a team environment. A typical project would include a company (such as Philip Morris) asking to analyze a promotion of theirs. Our group (of about 5 or 6 people) would discuss what all we needed to do (cleaning data sets, type of regression needed, what prior code to use (if applicable), who is going to write the needed code, etc.. I worked with very large data sets, often involving data cleaning (removing outliers, etc), reformatting (from text, etc.), and aggregation.
