Daily Duties at Ventiv Health U.S. Sales:

Contract Pharmaceutical Sales Representative position through Ventiv Health to promote Bayer Pharmaceutical antibiotics (both tablets and I.V. solution) to Primary Care Physicians, Specialists, hospital accounts and their pharmacy, Infectious Disease, and ER departments. Required one week paid at home product training and 1 week away of product and sales training –Training occurred through Ventiv Health’s own training department at their home office in Somerset, New Jersey. Assigned territory within Southwest Michigan that encompassed the “Lakeshore” area. Managed directly by Ventiv Health District Manager within Michigan. Responsible for managing and being accountable of allocated antibiotic samples. Assigned office sales calls consisted of leaving antibiotic samples and seeking out doctors/providers to discuss the benefits and relevance of using Bayer’s fluoroquinolone antibiotics (Cirpo & Avapro) and discuss the appropriate disease states which these products should be used for. Worked in conjunction with two Direct Bayer Sales Representatives to promote products within assigned territory. Had limited marketing budget from Ventiv so worked closely with Bayer sales partners as a means of utilizing their marketing funds to gain access to various offices where doctors could only be seen by way of providing a scheduled office lunch. In addition to calling on primary care practices, and specialists, I was assigned 6 small hospital accounts to promote Bayer’s' I.V. antibiotic franchises (Part of the Ventiv Health's Contract sales force was going to be utilized for this since Bayer only had Hospital Representatives that only called on larger hospital accounts. At this time, Bayer was aggressively trying to increase its I.V. antibiotic sales and were utilizing some of the Ventiv Contract Sales force to do this.) Duties included - were to solicit the hospital Pharmacy Director to purchase Bayer fluoroquinolone antibiotic contracts so they could be put on hospital formulary and used on hospitalized patients. Objective was to sell the drugs based on efficacy and contract price point so to entice the hospitals to add Bayer’s antibiotics to their in-house formulary. Object was to present Contract information to Hospital Pharmacy directors, and then garner support from area thought leaders and P&T (Pharmacy and Therapeutics) committee members to help influence the hospitals decision to accept Bayer I.V. antibiotics as a hospital preferred prescription product. Achieved two hospital sales agreements for formulary approval of Bayer’s I.V. antibiotics within 6 months of promoting to territory assigned small hospitals.
