Daily Duties at Ventiv Health U.S. Sales:

Worked in the capacity as a contact pharmaceutical sales representative through Ventiv Health to promote Boehringer Ingelheim Pharmaceutical products. Extensively trained in 3 disease states and BI related product knowledge – Training consisted of 1 week paid home study for disease/products related knowledge and 3 weeks away for intensive disease state and product knowledge that led to becoming certified to promote three B.I. franchise products related to the areas of hypertension, Neurology, and Pulmonary disease. Training was conducted by BI trainers at a hotel where I stayed for three weeks with other new Ventiv Contract hires. This training was later followed up 6 months later with an intensive comprehensive disease state/ product knowledge test – where additional studying and preparation was needed outside the field in order to prepare and pass. Once this was completed – this gave way to going for 2 weeks of sales training to Boehringer’s home office in Connecticut where the second phase of training was initiated to New sales reps to become more proficient at being able to sell and promote BI related products better. Training consisted of learning how to become more efficient at presenting marketing material by way of role playing and practicing product demonstrations, as well as learning how to decipher and present relevant medical studies and overcome various sales objections. Independently worked within a large assigned territory encompassing Southwest Michigan and Northern Indiana without a direct BI sales manager for three months. Reported to a Ventiv Health assigned Manager as well as a District Manager for B.I. Attended all B.I. related District events and meetings, and duties were the same as B.I. sales employees, but received paycheck & benefits from Ventiv. Promoted Neurology, Pulmonary and Cardiovascular products of Boehringer Ingelheim to primary care professionals, specialists and hospitals. Coordinated with other direct Boehringer Ingelheim direct sales employees to provide extra support by concentrating on doctors’ offices where there was the most potential for increasing the use of promoted prescription products. Managed allotted inventory or prescription samples and marketing and promotional materials. Attended all Regional and District sales meetings as assigned. (During this time period of working for Ventiv to promote BI products, there was a tremendous amount of growth and change occurring at B.I during this time period. Everything was in constant flux as B.I. began to emerge from a smaller pharmaceutical company to becoming more of a dominant player in the pharmaceutical arena as they began to increase the number of their sales forces, prepare to launch new drugs and overall increase in size and growth. – With all this going on with B.I. – it gave way to a great deal of confusion as the sales work environment for B.I. began to change – giving way for sales people to attended lots of meetings, and on line telephone conferences to prepare and educate themselves with the new organization that was occurring.)

What they like about Ventiv Health U.S. Sales:

Working in an organization that is technologically advanced, creative, and innovative is critical in your assessment of hiring companies. Less important to you are stability of the organization, the length of time an organization has been in business, and the business' plans for the future. You prefer a fast-moving company that will take risks to achieve its goals and objectives. The length of time the company has been in business is irrelevant. Maintaining status quo is unnecessary. You thrive on change, uncertainty and the upside of potential business risks, especially those associated with innovation. Stability for the long haul is not nearly as important as is working in an atmosphere that is charged with a sense of urgency and constant change.
