Daily Duties at Swagelok:
Dana Paul Tack 9349 Monticello Drive Twinsburg, Ohio 44087 440-221-6374 (Cell) (No Land-line) Male 10/08/1963 White (Caucasian) Graduate of Maple Heights High School. Maple Hts., Ohio College Prep Classes...1982 Graduate I have worked for the same company, Swagelok, for 23 years. I do not care for the way the company is heading, corporately as a company. Therefore I am looking for something new. I have done many different jobs while being employed at Swagelok. For the first 10 years I worked in the chemical plants. I did Brass Brite-dip, Silver-plate, Steel-coating, Titanium coating, chemical testing and additions, plus ware house work. In the warehouse we were responsible for unloading/loading trucks with tow-motors or pallet trucks. Then we had to put the stock away and assign it a stock-location. Check-off order on paperwork and put the information into the computer system. I was a trainer in most of the operations on the floor for approximately 6 years of my stay there. I went on to become a machine operator for approximately 3 years. I then became a Lead-person for the Auxiliary Dept. There I was in charge of production flow and machine repairs. I also helped in the Grinding Room to keep the operators satisfied with tooling. I went back for a year or so to the chemical plant. I began training again and plating as well. I hurt my back while plating. The company offered me the chance to work as an assembler to help get my back to feeling better. I did assembly for about 2 years. I also became The "On-the-job" Coordinator for that facility. I went on to become an Inspector. I became a Certified Trainer in this dept. as well. I was informed that I would not be able to get any further in the company, due to the fact I have no college education. I felt after 23 years, that would be sufficient for me to move into a Supervisors role. The company disagreed. I decided to make a change in career goals. What they like about Swagelok:
Working in an organization that is technologically advanced, creative, and innovative is critical in your assessment of hiring companies. Less important to you are stability of the organization, the length of time an organization has been in business, and the business' plans for the future. You prefer a fast-moving company that will take risks to achieve its goals and objectives. The length of time the company has been in business is irrelevant. Maintaining status quo is unnecessary. You thrive on change, uncertainty and the upside of potential business risks, especially those associated with innovation. Stability for the long haul is not nearly as important as is working in an atmosphere that is charged with a sense of urgency and constant change.
