• Project Procurement Manager for BP Amoco $150M refinery expansion project in Texas City,Texas • Structured outsourcing criteria for capital purchases, reducing capital costs by 16% with a total cost savings of $24 M • Managed 21 people to support the BP Amoco Capital Projects Group in the areas of Procurement (Engineered and Field), Accounts Payable, Warehousing, Inspection, and Expediting. • Development and issuance of policies and procedures. Implementation of best practices to insure seamless operations within the department and with cross functional teams and management. • Negotiated just-in-time delivery, savings to BP Amoco of $2.9 M, managed multi function technical teams evaluating US market for single source for purchase and repair of electric motors, and negotiated supplier warehousing and just in time delivery, reducing inventory 26%. Reduction of meantime between motor failures from 6.3 to 20.9 months substantially improved plant downtime and electrical motor repair rate.
