Daily Duties at Giant Food, Inc:
Provide operational leadership and direction in achieving sales and financial goals through the execution of strategic sourcing strategies across multiple perishable and shelf stable categories. Monitor and track competitor activity, analyzing and reporting on industry and consumer trends in order to maintain a competitive advantage within a defined marketing region. Minimize cost of goods through continuously identifying optimum sources of supply, reducing on-hand inventories, and improving warehouse turns. Capitalize on opportunities to drive sales and increase profit margins by effectively managing marketing funds, seasonal promotion opportunities and product placement fees. Collaborate with department merchandisers and managers to ensure customer satisfaction with regard to product quality, assortment and price.
