OPERATIONS EXECUTIVE MANAGEMENT: ESGR is a DoD organization in the Office of the Assistant Secretary of Defense for Reserve Affairs focused on gaining and maintaining support from employers of Guard and Reserve military service members. In charge of a senior management position equivalent to senior executive HR or Program Manager in private corporate enterprises. Led the operational management of 14 states within the Mid-West United States, overseeing 1,524 ESGR volunteers and full-time staff and a $722K budget. Key manager, advisor, and mentor to senior leaders and line/staff personnel, providing counseling on task and job performance, career progression, training, and protocol. Exercised broad managerial direction and oversight; make decisions on projects, changes in program emphasis, and division of resources. Participated in formulation of policies and conduct long-range planning.
