Daily Duties at Federal Bureau Of Investigations:
I plan, install, configure, test, and maintain a wide range of wireless communications technologies in addition to secure data communications, access control systems and electronic security systems. I determine communications and equipment needs; procure and manage communications equipment resources and participates in emergency preparedness activities. I inspect and perform Preventive maintenance on regularly used communication equipment, provide tower structural analysis for the placement of antennae. I assisted more experienced telecommunications specialists, engineers, and subject matter experts in other areas with projects and functions assigned to our office or location. I direct the technical, analytical and management functions of the FBI's digital, integrated voice/data communications systems. I have prepared documentation relative to telephone system specifications, proposal evaluations, and procurement actions. I have acted as team leader, and provided technical guidance and support to lower level technical employees. Monitors assigned systems to ensure they remain in an operational status. Analyzes and solves complex and sometimes unusual problems and restores systems/services. Planned and scheduled the installation of new or modified hardware/software and telecommunications systems. I have allocated systems resources. Manages accounts, network rights and access to systems and equipment, administers passwords. I maintained integrity of mainframe, hardware, software, and/or telecommunications systems. Implements policies and procedures to ensure systems reliability and accessibility, prevent, and defend against unauthorized access to networks, systems, and data.
