Daily Duties at Florida Career College:

Directly supervised and provided professional development for the centralized financial aid team with additional responsibility to staff at all 10 campuses; in total responsible for the training and compliance of more than 70 financial aid professionals to ensure all areas related to financial aid administered per federal, state and institutional policies. Critical to our success was the management of the Title IV past due process, all Title IV processes, and building appropriate metrics and reporting frameworks to measure employee and process effectiveness. Coordination of a U.S. Department of Education Program Review, which only yielded on minimal finding, and other audits were among my responsibility. And as the lead financial aid person at the college, working with IT to address needed process automation, software conversion, and other maintenance was a primary responsibility. Every aspect of Title IV administration was under my responsibility and we maintained a solid performance on Title IV collections (97% or better each quarter), and had very solid performance in the areas of collecting on past due financial aid by working with campuses to collect needed documents to clear files and process student aid.

What they like about Florida Career College:

Working in an organization that is technologically advanced, creative, and innovative is critical in your assessment of hiring companies. Less important to you are stability of the organization, the length of time an organization has been in business, and the business' plans for the future. You prefer a fast-moving company that will take risks to achieve its goals and objectives. The length of time the company has been in business is irrelevant. Maintaining status quo is unnecessary. You thrive on change, uncertainty and the upside of potential business risks, especially those associated with innovation. Stability for the long haul is not nearly as important as is working in an atmosphere that is charged with a sense of urgency and constant change.
