Daily Duties at Lutheran Social Services Of New York:

• Directly managed four (4) employees while mentoring indirectly 100+ staff including C-Level. • Managed department budget/spending and employee benefits /compensation including analysis. • Implemented cost savings by consolidating purchasing including phone service vendor. • Managed Payroll Manager and approvals, purchasing (Office Services), vendor relations, and building management. • Centralized recruiting processes by redefining and consolidating job descriptions. • Worked in collaboration with President on employment disputes, strategies, and change management. • Conducted and mentored/trained staff on employee relations, i.e.: employment law, conflict resolutions, interviewing, terminations, EEOC, corrective action process, management skills, and performance evaluations. • Implemented “new hire” procedures improving Employee Handbook non-compliance issues. • Negotiated vendor job boards and other free resources such as AARP Senior Placement. • Approved job requisitions and postings, screened applicants, and assisted hiring managers with job offers. • Coordinated and solicited volunteers in collaboration with marketing division for programs and special events. • Spearheaded the implementation of an H.R./Payroll outsource resulting in downsizing of payroll manager. • Overhauled inefficiencies in database systems (i.e., IT back-ups and security, HRIS, Applicant Tracking, and Payroll). • Assisted Marketing with event planning for board community meeting and GOSPELCare fundraising competition.
