Daily Duties at Humana Inc.:
Supervised daily activities of 34 claims and customer service employees. Planned work to be performed by employees, setting priorities and preparing work schedules. Assigned work and caseloads based on departmental priorities and requirements, taking into consideration employee's skills, knowledge, capabilities, and complexity of assignment to ensure satisfactory performance and quality standards were met. Established performance objectives and evaluated employee's performance in terms of departmental and team goals, quality and quantity standards, procedural, policy and regulatory compliance, and technical competence. Identified developmental and training needs of employees, providing and making provisions for development and training. Approved employee vacation requests. Interviewed and selected candidates for vacancies and recommended employee promotions or role expansions. Listened and resolved employee complaints. Administered disciplinary measures such as warnings, written reprimands, performance improvement plans, suspensions and terminations. Implemented specific and company-wide wide Human Resource programs in the areas of equal employment opportunity, affirmative action goals, employee benefits, compensation and departmental safety to ensure all employees were treated equally. Informed employees of all aspects of personnel policies of the department, providing advice, counseling, directions, and individual employee coaching and development, mentoring and training, and career pathing. Analyzed trends, prepared reports, and made recommendations to upper management to ensure team met performance guarantees with 96% accuracy. Led departmental transition of 96 associates from badger to CAS system for claims processing services. Coordinated and worked closely with other resource management personnel within the organization, to ensure effective use of available resources and funds were managed in accordance with regulations and client contractual obligations. Received and consolidated input from team members for inclusion in the overall transition plan. Attended and actively participated in meetings, seminars and conferences related to process improvements, impacts of changes in budget objectives, resources, and made recommendations involving departmental progress and processes. Analyzed, interpreted and made decisions based on industry Federal and State laws and company-wide policy and procedures. Built and maintained strong working relationships with internal and external clients, and vendors.
