Daily Duties at Makena Beach & Golf Resort, Benchmark Hospitality International :
Management responsibilities for multiple revenue centers for this 310 room, 1800 acre beach front resort in Wailea Maui. Achieved a YTD flow thru of 98.2 % due to tight labor and expense controls, as well as driving top line revenues. Primary focus was repositioning the resort as a “complete destination”. Created a team driven culture as well as initiating and implementing training to drive customer focus and staff awareness. Concentrating on project development which lead to the expansion of the 500 acre “Makena Ranch” on pace to capture 800K in additional revenues. Created the “Makena Kai Day Spa”, an outdoor Asian environment Spa with 5 treatment rooms, located on the ocean. Also owned and operated the Robert Trent Jones “North course” and started the process of developing the South Ocean 9 Course. Golf was a 1 million dollar turnaround YOY by incorporating the golf into the resort marketing and packaging.
