Daily Duties at University Of The Pacific:
I was the electrical engineering student and project manager tasked with the design & development of a programmable exercising counter device that could be worn and used to count the number of repetitions done by an end-user on any piece of exercise equipment found within the university fitness center. With a total budget of $200, the device needed to be compact, portable, battery-operated, have the capability of being reset, and contain a visual display with an audible and visual alert system. Daily/Weekly tasks: 1. Primary person responsible for organizing and managing the teams progress and communication, individually and collectively 2. Weekly team meeting with the Professor tasked as the teams technical adviser and providing detailed progress reports in the form of written documents, code development, electrical designs and schematics, mathematical models, engineering computations and State diagrams 3. Weekly timelines established and communicated to team members and technical adviser through the use of Network diagrams and Gannt charts. 4. Research, individually and collectively 5. Upon completion of the teams proposed design, design broken down into specific sub-systems and division of labor regarding systems development was assigned. 6. Individual sub-system development and prototyping 7. Collective testing of protyped sub-systems 8. Sub-systems integration and testing 9. Production of final prototype 10. Development of product User Manual and illustrations 11. 72 page technical report written & submitted Individual Responsibilities: 1. Responsible for the development of the audio/visual/tactile alert and user-input subsystems 2. Systems integration of all completed sub-systems 3. Layout and fabrication of PCB board and all soldering of PCB components
