Daily Duties at Aurora National Life/Executive Life:
This position began with my being responsible for payment processing and supervising a team of 10 employees. This involved training, coaching and counseling to achieve a productive team. Near the end of my first year, I was assigned a larger group of very diverse employees. The company had an award for productivity in place for several years and this group had never qualified. At the end of the first quarter, the group qualified for a 70% award and for each quarter thereafter, they qualified for a 100% award. I did this by spending a week with each smaller group to determine their desires, concerns, abilities and their opinions of the other groups. I discovered a common ground within all of the smaller groups and used that to build a cooperative effort that would benefit the group as a whole as well as improve overall productivity to benefit the company.
