Daily Duties at Portal Player (Now Nvidia):
# Developed and implemented test cases (grey and white box) which would test my implementation of a feature to store and retrieve a unique GUID number for a particular device. I was also responsible for creating an abstraction layer for the kernel services. I created a test suites and implemented the test cases to test the KSA (Kernel services API’s) abstraction layer API’s for semaphore and task scheduling functional modules. # Restructure (porting) the codebase to a new modular codebase structure that was based on object-oriented design principles and design patterns such as Abstract Factory and Singleton class. I also ported complete NAND flash platform to this new modular codebase and improved its efficiency and functional performance also optimized memory by 30% by reducing the size of the binaries. # Performed code clean up by identifying and deleting unused variables, unused files, duplicate files and methods, deleted interdependencies (inclusion) of definition files in modules, thereby reducing the size of libraries which are being used to build the binaries. I also identified and fixed memory leaks that improved performance. # Implemented and tested stream-based interface to support NOR and NAND flash boards. I got the opportunity to develop and implement a test suite for testing the interface API’s as well. # Developed the support for storing Non–Volatile Parameters (NVP) on the NOR flash. This was a cross-site development between Kirkland and Hyderabad teams and we closely coordinated and synchronized the task. # Implementing multiple feature requests, fix various bugs that were related to UI functionality (traversing between menus, capturing Key events generated on account of key press) and I also fixed bugs (high and medium priority) in the utility responsible for burning the bootloader on the flash, handling metadata information of media files and also in UI components. # Designed and implemented auto detection of flash. This implementation would detect the type of NOR Flash present on the board (SST39VF/LF and AM29LV160DT Flash) during the initial boot and again during the loading of the main firmware image I also improved the test coverage for NOR flash drivers. I also developed a test suite (Black box and White box) to thoroughly test the SD drivers support on client devices. # Software and tools: C, C++, Source Insight, AXD (Jtag), Beyond Compare.
