Daily Duties at Self:

As an independent contractor, I provided programming, development, and direct support . I also provided educational and training services for all types of Pick-like systems, most recently for Volvo Aero Services in Boca Raton, Florida. I maintained web sites for various customers; installed, configured and maintained RedHat Linux servers as well as NT/IIS and Apache web servers. I also offered networking technical assistance for companies that didn't have a full-time network personnel. I am assisted the University of Connecticut Co-Op Bookstore in moving their NT and Linux servers and workstations to a new internal network behind a firewall appliance as well as was the main point of contact for Linux administration. In my own business, I had a web hosting and Internet Service Provider company in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. I built the servers, installed the OS's (NT and Linux), configured all services, designed and implemented a multi-segment LAN and WAN, and set up VPN's between my office, my home, and my business partner's office outside Rotterdam, The Netherlands. I did all hardware maintenance, network configurations, and administered all aspects of the Linux and NT server systems. I used Apache and IIS as web servers, write scripts in Visual Basic, Perl, and PHP to provide dynamic web pages. I also used UniVerse to compile and publish all statistics for the domains we hosted and to automate a great deal of day-to-day administration.
