Daily Duties at World Information Systems:

In this position, I developed communications and transaction-processing software for Symbol barcode-capable Symbol barcode-capable Pocket PC devices as well as web application interfaces. I worked with both the Pocket PC side and the back-end database side. I designed and completed both ends of a proprietary data transport system using sockets and TCP/IP. I designed and wrote web interface and data transports using PHP, JavaScript, Cascading Style Sheets, and Microsoft Visual Studio versions 2005 and 2008. I am experienced in deploying both Pocket PC and web applications. Thus, I am also very familiar with the Apache server. A good portion of this position entailed creating tools, subroutines, and “glue-ware” to transport data between various existing applications and web interfaces. I also programmed extensively in PICK / UniVerse, writing communications transport protocols and data exchange routines. I wrote a fully functional web server (following Apache paradigms) completely within UniVerse BASIC to expose data safely outside UniVerse. I wrote a set of communications transport protocols using Cache/MV. I have experience installing and maintaining a multivalue database with Cache/MV. I used both the character-based MV language to port existing UVBasic routines to Cache and used MVBasic within Cache classes as object-oriented code.
