Daily Duties at Creative Applications Inc. (Cai):
* For a major shipping company, developed the core of a proposed ('proof-of-concept') prototype document imaging system for billing receipts by integrating a high speed Kodak ImageLink scanner to its Sun host via SCSI. Integrated that Sun scanner server to a Sun database server hosting the Plexus/Informix database and a laser disk jukebox via a dedicated LAN link between the Suns. * Added a real-time automated and bar coded front-end system to a mainframe-hosted Material Management System (MMS) for electric utility warehouses using wireless handheld barcode scanner/trackers. This enabled a local Sun-hosted Oracle MMS database and PCs to update the mainframe MMS automatically and with greater speed. Installed a customized Oracle system, designed the local MMS database and developed an automatic nightly mainfraime to Sun update. * Used: Solaris Unix OS, C, Oracle, Informix RDBMS, Plexus imaging system, Embedded SQL in C, Kodak's Image Capture subsystem (like an SDK), Sun's SCSI API interface, OmniPage with OCR, FileMagic, PowerBuilder, cron, c shell, awk, sed, SQL, sqlload scripts, Frameworks
