Daily Duties at Humana:

Foremost, I insured strong relationships with the medical community through the resolution of claims issues, and triage protocol and educated physicians and staff of policies and guidelines on referrals, triage, claims submission, etc in order to prevent any problems for my providers. I also negotiated and executed primary, specialty, and hospital contracts, and was responsible for the implementation and management of the operations of a full-risk IPA Agreement, covering over 100,000 lives. Aside from managing a 2-state territory consisting of MO and KS, I developed managed specialty networks for approximately all HMO members in cardiology, home health and mental health services, and urology. In 1999, I was promoted to a Senior Contract Manager.
