Daily Duties at National Institute Of Mental Health:

Lead a 5-member research team of postdoctoral fellows and technicians, directed the ongoing development and execution of multiple, concurrent scientific projects on translational and behavioral neuroscience within the Laboratory of Molecular Pathophysiology of the Mood & Anxiety Disorders Research Program. Conceived and proposed new studies, established detailed research plans, and oversaw each project’s implementation, served as the lab’s chief expert for troubleshooting research issues, procedural standards, authored study-related publications, and responded to reviewer questions. Additionally played a key role in managing lab operations from recruiting new fellows to administering budgets.Rapidly masters basic technology, including test methods, equipment, and materials; Generates, analyze, and reports scientifically sound, reproducible, and accurate data; Records experimental data, ensuring clear and accurate transcription of results and calculations; Reports unusual observation or data to supervisor and/or recommends minor modifications to established procedures or the use of an alternative method; Seeks out innovative ways to apply knowledge or skills to improve protocols and results; Actively engages overall project and ensures own work in aligned with overarching goals; Routinely applies personal experience, academic training, and technical insights to solve complex problems with the laboratory. Strong communication and presentation skills, both verbal and written. Experience working in the team workingenvironment for discovery of CNS drugs Knowledge of quality and performance testing of various dosage forms and of pharmaceutical regulations required. Working knowledge of MS Office software and other statistical, graphic,and quantification software. The ability to plan and conduct research independently. Experience in pharmaceutical drug products development. Possess the ability to multi-task and to work effectively with a team of multi-disciplinary experts to achieve desired outcomes.
