Daily Duties at San Diego Unified School District:
Provide direct nursing care; health-related education and counseling to an average of 40 students per school day. Case manage chronically ill and medically fragile students; serve as liaison between students/families and local practitioners; provide and bill for Medi-Cal funded services; find appropriate resources for students in need of low-cost to no-cost health care, eyeglasses, and psychiatric counseling. Perform and report state-mandated health screenings for different age groups. Conduct staff training and educational in-service programs. Participate in inter-disciplinary collaboration to ensure optimal patient care and outcomes.
