Daily Duties at Wyse Technology:
Led/Managed World Wide Engineering organization.Supervised 120 staff serving across 4 geographical areas. Annual expense budget of more than $17M and a capital budget up to $2.5M. Collaborated with the executive team to construct R&D strategy and software competencies (including development processes, competitive analysis, and Life Cycle Management) and spearheaded customer and sales oriented alignment of engineering activities. Accelerated competitive positioning within Europe as the top tier supplier of Linux Thin Client solutions by directing the launch of a new platform to attain multi-thousand unit deals with large financial and insurance institutions. Patent holder for innovating the Wyse Streaming Manager (WSM) software product, which facilitates streaming applications and operating systems to Thin Clients. Pioneered the union of leading enterprise customers through the format of a Technical Customer Advisory Council for advice on technical and feature aspects. Secured $500K in annual savings and doubled the production of the development pipeline by establishing 2 offshore SQA centers in India (Calcutta & Delhi) to yield faster time-to-market for all new products. Successfully led all customer sustaining activities and maintained/improved relationships w/the Field.
