• Researched and continuously monitored a wide variety of hedge funds as a member of the alternative investment allocation and research due diligence team • Identified existing and emerging hedge funds worthy of deep investigation through referrals, industry interactions, database screening, etc. • Performed comprehensive due diligence on new funds, including evaluating stated strategies, investment process, risk controls, team capabilities, fund particulars (such as structure, domicile, fees, and other factors), and an exhaustive array of quantitative measures • Followed industry news, agency ratings, analyst publications and other independent information sources to draw external views on current and prospective investment firms • Generated peer group reports and benchmark analysis using Excel, Pertrac, Packhedge, Fundrunner, Measurisk, Bloomberg, and several other proprietary and external tools • Wrote research reports and meeting memos to summarize key investment insights and summaries from manager meetings • Monitored information on invested funds e.g. risk, liquidity, capacity, etc. • Mitigated risk by analyzing various data points on investment firm, including AUM, position limits, sector exposures, firm history, background checks, research capacity, etc. • Reconciled investor letters, published news articles, estimated returns reports, risk exposure files, and any other relevant documents regarding invested firms • Reviewed various internally and externally distributed reports, including monthly performance updates and quarterly news letters • Coordinated with vendors and IT personnel to ensure implementation of new software and databases • Mentored new and junior colleagues
