Daily Duties at Nassau County :
Managed legislative office of elected official representing a district of 40,000 residents. Provided administrative support to legislator including extensive calendar management utilizing Microsoft Outlook. Managed all executive correspondence, both external and inter-departmental. Provided personal assistance as requested running errands,shopping, correspondence and fundraising during non business hours. Managed day to day opertions of office including scheduling, planning and preparing notices and mailings for legislative hearings, town hall meetings, community service events, i.e., mammogram screenings, flu shots, tax grievance, etc. Trained and supervised staff including one full time assistant and a summer intern program. Ordered and maintained office supply inventory. Managed IT issues with IT department. Facilitated comprehensive constituent support for wide range of quality of life issues. Composed and proofed content for press releases, district newsletters, informational brochures, legislator's county web-page, including bio. Maintained schedule for recurring mailings. Prepared legislative back up materials for biweekly sessions. Scheduled and organized special hearings including scheduling guest speakers, preparing agendas and session materials. Designed Power Point presentations for community meetings. Maintained extensive databases using Microsoft Excel. Prepared and filed time sensitive financial disclosure reports for the legislator and our staff. Performed special projects as assigned. Researched internet for topics pertaining to proposed legislation under consideration. Interfaced with and liason to all levels of county government, elected officials at the local, state and federal level, as well as school superintendents, non profits and law enforcement.
