Daily Duties at Lutheran Social Services Of Northeast Florida:
Manage communications, marketing and public relations for one of Jacksonville’s largest non-profit agencies and its five outreach programs (Second Harvest North Florida, Refugee & Immigration Services, AIDS Care & Education Services, Representative Payee Services and The Sharing Place Thrift Store). Core areas of responsibility are: ► Media Relations: Serve as the agency spokesperson and primary contact for all media inquiries; Pitch stories to local and regional media about organizational achievements, client success and localization of global issues that impact the agency’s mission; Coordinate special projects that promote the agency’s programs and services through media exposure; Maintain and manage a current list of local and regional media contacts; Monitor media placements. ► Publications/Electronic Communication Tools: Responsible for content, design and production of all internal and external documents for the agency, including: Annual reports for Lutheran Social Services and Second Harvest North Florida; three printed monthly newsletters; three monthly e-newsletters; organizational PowerPoint presentations; a library of more than 25 agency brochures; marketing and promotional materials; large-format print projects; and universal business tools used throughout the organization (business cards, stationery, envelopes, note cards). ► Website Management/Social Media: Responsible for content management, design and overall maintenance of three organizational websites (LSSJAX.ORG, WENOURISHHOPE.ORG and JACKSONVILLEFOODFIGHT.ORG). Managed redesign for all three websites between 2008-10. Developed the agency’s social media program, which now includes multiple accounts on Facebook, Twitter, Flickr and YouTube. ► Marketing/Brand Management: Serve as organizational clearinghouse and enforcement officer for all branding issues regarding the Second Harvest North Florida and Lutheran Social Services of Northeast Florida brands; responsible for producing and maintaining an inventory of marketing and promotional items for external use; coordinate all cause marketing campaigns, which have included associations with Panera Bread (Lemonade For Hunger Aid), First Coast News (Be A Hero Food Drive), St. Johns Town Center (Hunger Action Month), Chick-fil-A (Nourishing Kids Summer Meals Program), the National Association of Letter Carriers (Stamp Out Hunger) and the Jacksonville Jaguars (Jaguars Family Food Drive). ► Special Events: Coordinate graphic design, media relations and marketing efforts to the agency’s annual special events: Canstruction, Stamp Out Hunger, the Jacksonville FOODFIGHT, the LSS Volunteer Appreciation Event, Taste of the NFL, the LSS Annual Meeting and the Empty Bowls Luncheon. ► Administration: Serve as the staff liaison for the Lutheran Social Services JETSET Board, a group of young professionals in the Jacksonville business community whose purpose is to serve as ambassadors for the agency’s overall mission.
