Daily Duties at Powell Electrical Systems, Inc.:
• Department Head with five direct reports. Responsibilities include full accountability of end-to-end accounting, payroll and tax reconciliations for multi-state weekly and semi-monthly payrolls consisting of 2,000+ exempt, non-exempt and highly compensated employees. Payroll Department metrics for end-to-end processing trend between 99-100% accuracy. Initiate and develop a communication matrix to streamline exchange of critical data between Human Resources and Payroll Departments thereby reducing 15% of operating costs. Coordinate with corporate HR Department to examine system data for all new hires, re-hires, leave and terminated employees. Accountable for 401k deferrals, 401k Roth, catch-up and match contributions in collaboration with HR Benefits. Develop and execute Departmental Budget and maintain budget surplus. Spearhead creation of quarterly metrics which develop trends to ensure the department supports corporate objectives and remains under budget. Manage performance evaluations, establish team and individual strategic objectives. • Project Lead on ERP, Benefit and Payroll implementations on several unique systems. Act as Workstream Lead in end-to-end design/implementation of ERP system & TimePro conversion for 130 Transdyn, Inc. employees in ten states and overseas location in New Zealand. Partner with Benefits and HRIS teams in system conversion from Stone Partners to Benefit Solver transitioning 2,000+ employees onto new platform. Project plan specifications calls for five months of UAT/regression testing, peer review over the data integrity, and creation of an on-going data validation tool. Setup plan for year-end benefits data import process to reduce employees workloads by 50%. Serve as Project Lead with HRIS and Benefit teams to enhance 401k administration between Schwab and Ceridian. Develop new interface/benefit calculation tools to automate 401k process at 100% and decrease employees’ workload by 70%.
