Daily Duties at Woolls & Peer:

Managed client portfolio primarily comprised of commercial insurance law cases, including: bad faith, equitable contribution and declaratory relief, with a special emphasis on CD actions with 100+ underlying actions, many also with additional insured issues. Analyzed potential insurance coverage in landlord-tenant disputes, defamation actions, patent disputes and Toxic Tort actions. Prepared coverage opinions. Defended the insured and brought actions on behalf of the insured after automobile accidents. Prepared and challenged initial pleadings and was responsible for all aspects of pre-trial litigation, including discovery, discovery motions, document analysis, depositions and retaining and preparing expert witnesses. Persuaded opposing counsel to dismiss an entire contribution action originally valued at $1+M by sharing my comprehensive spreadsheet analysis with opposing counsel. Conducted extensive research and analysis in insurance bad faith actions brought by purported additional insureds, which frequently convinced plaintiffs' counsel to either dismiss our client or reach a favorable settlement early in the litigation. Fluent in construction terminology, knowledgeable in sequencing of construction, interpretation of mold testing and remediation procedures. Trained associate attorneys and paralegals. Consistently surpassed annual billing expectations by averaging 2,000+ billable hours per year, without compromising the integrity of work for clients.

What they like about Woolls & Peer:

Working in an organization that is technologically advanced, creative, and innovative is critical in your assessment of hiring companies. Less important to you are stability of the organization, the length of time an organization has been in business, and the business' plans for the future. You prefer a fast-moving company that will take risks to achieve its goals and objectives. The length of time the company has been in business is irrelevant. Maintaining status quo is unnecessary. You thrive on change, uncertainty and the upside of potential business risks, especially those associated with innovation. Stability for the long haul is not nearly as important as is working in an atmosphere that is charged with a sense of urgency and constant change.
