Daily Duties at Covanta:
Operated and Maintained Water Treatment Plant using DCS control taking raw river water,clarifying it,and supplying water for boiler water,plant service water,closed cooling loop,and fire abatement water.Conducted daily rounds of operating equipment including three combusters,turbine/generator,and all auxiliary equipment reporting and correcting found discrepencies. Operated ionic exchange unit and tested boiler water,feed water,and condensate for phosphate,PH,conductivity,and oxygen. Maintained cooling water chemistry. Performed outage work to maintain combustor integrity. Operated Pollution Control Equipment including Reverse Air Baghouse with eight modules,Quench Reactor and Lime Slaking Equipment,Ammonia Injection,and Hydrolized Lime Injecton. Conducted Preventative Maintainance Procedures and complete documentation of all plant activities.Wrote Work Orders and followed up on completion status. Filled vacancies as a Pulpit Gantry Crane Operator.
