Daily Duties at West Virginia University:
* Provide supervision for ATS Solutions Support group, responsible for business analysis, functional development, deployment and support of Administration and Finance applications implemented and/or supported centrally; and of training, communications, helpdesk activities and desktop support for units within the Administration and Finance division – of mission-critical systems of Human Resources, Accounting, Finance, Budget / Treasury Operations, and Facilities. * Provide leadership and supervision for a team of Business Analyst and Training professionals by effectively managing daily operations of the Solutions Support group including, training, mentoring, motivation, team-work and consistent support of staff development evaluation/appraisals, and recruitment; responsible for overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of functional developers, while encouraging staff empowerment to express initiative and creativity. * Collaborate with University and ATS management in the development and maintenance of the University's strategic plan with prominence on the Administration and Finance strategic plan. * Advance policy, standards and best practices creation for technology business solutions. * Accountable for establishing unit goals and objectives based on institutional, division and department priorities. * Perform administrative responsibilities including interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding / disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems; ensuring participation in professional development programs and interdepartmental/divisional teams. * Create and administer detailed work/project plans for all business solutions development operations and projects; ensure that all projects include requirements analysis, design, test (QA), documentation, and training. * Work with internal business partners and ATS management to ensure understanding of business requirements and to continually improve service levels. * Create / support web sites that provide necessary / appropriate information to staff, faculty and students on systems supported; work collaboratively with staff, faculty and students of the University to provide/improve necessary services. * Develop, present, preserve and exercise day-to-day management of ATS Solutions Support group budget. * Provide leadership and direction in the following areas to professional staff trainers and Manager, Solutions Support Training: * Development of training material content and delivery on systems developed and administered by ATS. * Development of a Strategic Education Plan for Administration and Finance for all systems supported by ATS including but not limited to Oracle modules at all campus locations. * Develop and maintain a partnership with the Office of Information Technology. * Development of new institutional policies or revision of current policies as they relate to the user education/support and communication programs * Analyze, recommend, and effectively utilize information technology solutions to projects critical to the mission of administrative areas of the university and in leading edge training software.
