Daily Duties at Humana (Right Source Ii):
As Screening Pharmacist I was the legally responsible party approving a patient's medication from a physician's prescription - right patient, right drug, right strength, right directions. In addition, I was responsible for checking the current prescription against a patient's history to be certain no drug interactions would occur. Any suspected drug interaction was directed to the "Doctor Call" department to verify the correct information. I identified and reported prescription errors to provide training for the technicians repeating errors. Required knowledge not only of Federal Statutes, but Controlled Substance laws in all 50 states. In addition, I was the 'Pharmacist-On-Duty' (POD) nights and weekends which fulfilled the FDA regulatory requirement requiring a pharmacist be present when technicians or other non-pharmacists are working in the area
What they like about Humana (Right Source Ii):
A hiring company that offers alternative approaches to pay, performance bonuses, and/or equity in the firm is very attractive to you. You're generally less interested in working for an organization offering only traditional, salary-based compensation, one with limited opportunity to acquire equity in the firm, or one that does not actively promote skill development. In addition, you are more likely to choose a company that offers a variety of internal career options, with defined career paths. You view the learning of new skills and development of your expertise as key to your career advancement. These aspects of an organization may become even more important to you as you progress in your field, and are especially critical if you change career or occupation.
