Daily Duties at Smith Southwestern, Inc.:

Souvenir products were designed for specific regions and/or states. My responsibility was to research the target region, create detailed 2-D or 3-D illustrations, instructions and material specifications for production, review prototypes created by the factories and make recommendations. My specialty was 3-D product development because I could illustrate a new product with free-hand illustration from numerous vantage points that enabled the craftsmen to precisely sculpt the molds used for mass production. I was also responsible for creating the annual templates for engagement and pocket calendars with all the correct holidays, moons, boxes, etc. All designers were required to use my templates to avoid oversights and typographical errors.
