Daily Duties at Us Navy:

The Role 3 provided combat medical care for Coalition and local national personnel wounded on the battlefield. I provided senior leadership and guidance to over 200 staff within the surgical and clinical directorates at the NATO Role 3 hospital. Departments included Surgery, Trauma, Emergency Room, Lab, Radiology, Dental, Psychology, Pharmacy, and Physiotherapy. I transitioned the hospital command from Canadian to U.S. leadership and spearheaded the movement of the hospital from an existing location to a newly built facility. This included the logistics for over $15M in supplies and equipment. Implemented a newly revised electronic healthcare record designed for forward operations. Additionally, as the command safety officer, I was responsible for ensuring compliance for all health and safety issues within the facility. Also taught 5 EMT-B courses through Central Texas College; two of these classes specifically held for the staff of the Role 3.

You give high priority to hiring firms with prestige. Market reputation and prestige of a firm may be determined through on-line research, and conversations with individuals working in your target industry. Note that firms "in the public eye" receive a great deal more critical publicity and attention than those operating with more anonymity. So as you assess your employment opportunities, be sure to seek out the positive aspects of the firm's reputation in addition to noting negative publicity the company may have received.
