Daily Duties at Enterprise Rent A Car:

Enterprise Rent-A-Car offered me a position that would help to build my skills with managing employees and be directly compensated for my contribution. During my first 2 years I leant the culture and values of the company and how the incorporated them in the everyday dealings of the operations. These values were common sense – treat people fairly, honestly and with respect. In years 2-5 I used the main values along with my sales skills and successfully manage two branches. • The first branch had loss core business to a competitor, sales had fallen and the employee morale was very low. The branch was consistently losing money and there were talks about closing this location down. Within 12-months I develop the business to produce consistent profitability through re-establishing relationships with our core customer and earning their business. Plus teaching and training the branch employees on using ethical selling practices to improve other sources of revenue. • After quickly earning the respect of senior management I was asked to take on-board another branch that was stagnant in growth. After quickly assessing the reason from the lack of growth through speaking with the employees and the local business leaders within the community, I immediately launch my strategic plan to grow the business. Within 6 short months we grew the business by 37.5% through our aggressive ‘word of mouth’ campaign. Employee morale once again soared and so did our repeat customer base. After two years the business hit unprecedented results growing over 150%. Once again I was asked to over see a market within the organization that was struggling with growth and relocated to the central coast of California – San Luis Obispo. Here I was asked to manage 4 branch managers in an area spreading over 150 miles. After my initial consultations with the management team, their employees and community leaders – I launch my strategic growth plan. • I identified the need to open a fifth location to help the existing branches to become more efficient. I found a strategic property and negotiated a lease with the landlord. I ensure correct efficiency was in place when opening the location and after absorbing the initial opening cost, the branch produce consistent profitability for the organization within 3 months. • I personally met with all the main business leaders within the 5 communities we had locations. After building relationships I quickly introduced the Branch Managers to their relative business leaders. The immediate benefit our organization experienced was growth. •I studied and understood the local market place and all potential competitors. I then assisted the local branches and building a customer pricing systems within the different markets the business served – Retail, Replacement and Weekend customer. • Created a competitive team environment among all the employees inspiring a sales culture using ethical practices, which not only improved moral but helped to grow our repeat customer base. • Set up a training program and taught employees how to ask for the sale • Created a target marketing system to spark the local growth After 2 short years the business grew by 40%.
