Daily Duties at Methodist Health System:
• Project Manager for the Implementation of NextGen EMR for Methodist Health System • Responsible for directing the overall implementation of the organization's out-patient usage of the NextGen Electronic Medical Record system across all Methodist Health System which consisted of 3 major hospitals and currently 6 outlying clinics and a projected 9 more outlying clinics by September of 09. • Served as the primary champion and driver for the universal and proper usage of EPM & EMR by effectively and efficiently managing all resources. • Responsible for the development and adherence to project schedules, set objectives, established timelines and other related plans. • Directed the overall implementation of and training for the organization's EMR usage; coordinates each practice's preparation and go-live activities. • Managed the EMR implementation and training team(s) by establishing deadlines, assigning responsibilities, monitoring progress and summarizing results. • Supervised and directs the selection, training & development and work performance of IS staff having EPM & EMR implementation and training responsibilities • Created site-specific plans for individual offices/practices. • Collaborated with Directors, physicians, their staffs and others users in the organization to manage project implementation, system upgrades, and support of all automated clinical information systems. • Reported hardware and other technical issues and concerns to the IS Directors. • Developed, coordinated implementation of and monitored the NextGen EPM & EMR Superuser Certification' program. Periodically provided updates to senior management, organizational leadership and the Physician's Council and communicated across multiple organization levels. • Scheduled and conducted training for both train-the-trainer and end-users as necessary. Attended all necessary Education classes and became a subject matter expert on the on NextGen EPM & EMR. • Maintained an up-to-date knowledge of clinical applications developments and best practices.
