MARINE MASTER GUNNERY SERGEANT | United States Marine Corps | 1980-2006 Held diverse military assignments with a progressive series of increasingly responsible management and leadership positions, achieving the rank of Marine Master Gunnery Sergeant, the highest enlisted rank attainable within the Marine Corps. Logistics Readiness Analyst (Camp Smith, HI • 2002-2006) Subject matter expert, advisor, and inspector for all ground communications electronics, motor transport, engineer, and ordnance equipment readiness. • Performed logistics analysis in all activities involving the development and review of doctrinal change, logistics policy, crisis action planning, deliberate planning and material/supply chain management. • Directed, developed and performed logistics management operations that involved planning, coordinating, evaluating and tracking logistical action required to support the deployment/redeployment of two infantry battalions, one regimental headquarters, three helicopter squadrons, two Kabul security task forces and two Afghanistan national army trainer teams. • Tracked, analyzed, and reported corrosion repair costs used in the preparation and submission of an excess of annual operational support budgets in excess of $5 million. Maintenance Operations/Fiscal Chief (Camp Pendleton, CA • 2000-2002) Master Sergeant, serving as Maintenance Operations and Fiscal Analyst assigned to the Maintenance Operations Section (MOS) to provide overall technical oversight of all intermediate maintenance, supply and fiscal related issues. Direct oversight of 18 technicians, mechanics and supply personnel. • Reorganized a $10 million intermediate maintenance/supply accounting section, defining and implementing processes to eliminate duplication of efforts in the reporting process, accurately track obligations and expenditures, effectively reducing costs associated with misaligned practices and accountability. • Interfaced with buyers and vendors on rework purchase orders, evaluating vendors, Department of Defense, and Defense Logistics Agencies in expediting the procurement and purchase of repair parts. • Developed, reviewed, and approved system specification, statement of work, and other technical and programmatic documentation regarding contractual commitments, blanket purchase agreements, and support requirements. Maintenance Management Officer & First Sergeant (Camp Courtney, Okinawa, Japan • 1996-2000) Provided operational direction and technical oversight of all functional areas of maintenance management for the largest battalion in the 3rd Marine Division with consistent positive results in meeting operational goals and objectives. • Overhauled battalion control programs through the review of standard operating procedures, implementing new policies through training and policy letters focused on incorporating user-friendly procedures to increase overall accuracy and efficiency. • Managed organizational and intermediate level Repair of Repairable cycles to include induction for repair or retrofit to manufacture, requisitioning of repair parts, technical research of repair parts to include cataloging, cross referencing of National Stock Numbers, National Item ID Numbers and/or part numbers, repair, and re-issue to owning facility. • Served as Acting First Sergeant for a one-year period, acting as principal enlisted advisor for all administrative, technical, tactical, and leadership requirements. Led teams of up to 200 personnel with full responsibility for work assignments, scheduling, performance review/counseling, disciplinary recommendations, career planning, development and promotion. Chief Instructor, Division MIMMS School (Camp Hansen, Okinawa, Japan • 1994-1996) Supply/Warehouse Chief (Marine Corps Recruit Depot, San Diego, CA • 1991-1994) Supply Maintenance Analysis Team Inspector (Camp Pendleton, CA • 1989-1991 Drill Instructor (Parris Island, SC • 1987-1989) Administrative & Protocol Chief (Camp Pendleton CA • 1985-1987)
