Supervise a team of 5 Marines, ensuring the training schedule is completed, all required personnel, equipment, and transportation is available for each training evolution. Assisting in running the entire unit in general, as the second in command. Collateral duties include: Substance Abuse Control Officer, where I coordinate and administrate urinalyses of the unit to ensure a cohesive and drug free environment for the unit; Equal Opportunity Representative (EO), maintaining an environment that is free of harassment, counseling Marines on their options when there is a conflict and ensuring proper resolution, and facilitating such resolution. As well, as the EO I create and present classes in order to educate the Marines on different social groups and their contributions to our Country and Corps such as that of Native Americans during Native American History Month.
What they like about U.S. Marine Corps (Reserve):
A hiring company that offers alternative approaches to pay, performance bonuses, and/or equity in the firm is very attractive to you. You're generally less interested in working for an organization offering only traditional, salary-based compensation, one with limited opportunity to acquire equity in the firm, or one that does not actively promote skill development. In addition, you are more likely to choose a company that offers a variety of internal career options, with defined career paths. You view the learning of new skills and development of your expertise as key to your career advancement. These aspects of an organization may become even more important to you as you progress in your field, and are especially critical if you change career or occupation.
