Daily Duties at Ameri Corps:
• Received the Gumption and Initiative Award, Spirit Award, and Team of the Week Award while serving in City Year Philadelphia. • Received Oprah Winfrey City Year Scholarship $11,000 for graduate school at Eastern University. • Managed a high school partnership with Benjamin Franklin High School in Philadelphia, PA providing tutoring, mentoring and class support. • Operated an afterschool program in conjunction with Russell Byers Charter School in Philadelphia, PA. • Also planned, developed and led a legacy project build of an indoor “Peace Garden.” at Benjamin Franklin High School. • Organized two service days for the entire City Year Philadelphia site, approximately 175 individuals, at 15 local nonprofits. • Served as a National Civilian Community Corps (NCCC) Ambassador for recruiting events throughout Southern California. • Assisted Lummi Island Community Land Trust to construct nine homes in Lummi Island, Washington. • Served as a Teacher Assistant for Larchmont Elementary in Sacramento, CA. • Provided support as a Trail Engineer to the National Forest Service in Sedona, AZ. • Managed a Wonderful Outdoor World summer camp in Salt Lake City, UT.
