Daily Duties at Milliken & Co., Greige Fine Goods Division:
Total Milliken training and application in the plants from Supervisor of Water-Jet Development to Shift Supervisor, Maintenance Department Manager and Production Manager. Acquired position of Process Manager, Project Manager for Loom installations in McCormick, Honea Path, Gerrish, Taccoa Plants. These installations included Air-Jet, as well as Water-Jet Weaving machines. Acquiring Statistical training at Milliken University, formulated a very usable mathematical ability and a strong desire to teach and train others in Management, as well as, Hourly employees. COST & FINANCIAL REPORTS -- EXTENSIVE INVOLVEMENT WHILE FULFILLING JOB RESPONSIBILITIES – Whether maintaining an existing cost system or constructing and maintaining a new cost system, management must monitor and be willing to change, in order to remain profitable. Costing new processes and styles is essential. This is often best, prior to implementing the process or new style. Department costs, style costs, process costs, basic manufacturing costs, such as natural gas, utility, machine parts, chemical, dye, and coating costs, are just part of managing the plant or business.
