Daily Duties at Boyce & Bynum Pathology Labs.:
Performed laboratory tests and sent specimens in for test results. Collected blood, tissue and other laboratory specimens and processed them for lab testing. Cleaned and sterilized instruments and disposed of contaminated supplies. Experienced with various medical conditions including Parkinson’s, Dementia, Diabetes, Cancer, Alzheimer’s, and Coumadin therapy. Often commended for maintaining the safety, respect, and dignity of residents. Provided caring companionship to elderly and developmentally disabled patients. Partnered with team of Registered Nurses to ensure over-all-well-being of all patients. Measured urine and delivered specimens and STAT specimens to hospital laboratory. Provided on-call care at all times of day and night. Utilized strong assessment skills to determine necessary patient care. Tested patient’s blood glucose levels. Maintained patient privacy and confidential patient information. Followed infection control procedures. Proper usage of Personal Protective Equipment.
