Daily Duties at Power Generation Systems:
ISSUES OFTEN CROSS MULTIPLE DISCIPLINES or professions (manufacturing, patents, construction, insurance, shipping, engineering, architecture, etc.); use team approach to plan, organize, and direct legal presentations. Examples include: Managed all activities related to litigation and/or claims response, strategy and tactics for a large power generation company. Provided legal analysis and advice to corporate management team. Prepared and filed legal pleadings and documents. Prepared for and conducted pre-trial discovery, hearings, and trials to the bench or to juries. Conducted legal research. Managed team of in-house legal professionals. Stayed current on pending or changing legislation or case law that could impact the company’s business practices. RESULTS: All defense litigation resolved quickly, effectively and under budget. Saved the company millions of dollars in plaintiff cases. Protected corporate brand and integrity. Land development and land use issues including rezonings, conditional uses (special exceptions), variances, planned unit developments, developments of regional impact, and code enforcement at both the administrative and court hearing levels. Prior to any hearing for a development order, rezoning or conditional use, information is obtained from the owner, his engineers and planners, and the government’s building and zoning officials. Based upon the information obtained, I develop a plan for an organized presentation which I direct and control to a successful outcome. Results have included numerous innovative solutions.

Experience with the FERC, NERC, and EPA requirements, corporate governance requirements and entity formation and dissolution, interpersonal skills, superior independent functioning and decision-making skills, superior organizational, prioritizing and time management skills and flexibility and ability to take initiative, Skill at drafting and negotiation of contracts for complex commercial transactions, with a focus on acquisition , divestiture agreements, joint agreement packages, acreage trade agreements, exploration and development agreements, unit and joint operating agreements, fairmount agreements, Experience working with a multi-disciplinary team, self-motivated with the ability and drive to work independently, trong interpersonal and communication skills, sound judgment and commercial awareness, manage business unit expectations to comply with company policies and procedures, Litigation, Drafting, sheets, Forth Programing Language, Construction, Government, Information Technology, Insurance, Legal, Management
